What I'm looking for
I'm a versatile distance and middle distance runner equally at home in XC and track, competing across events from the 800 to the DMR to 3200 to 5K on the grass, with the range to move up to 8K/10K. I have a strong aerobic base built through year-round training at around 50 miles per week including double threshold work and 3 years of a Strength and Speed course. I bring state and national track meet experience and contribute in the 4x800 and DMR relays for my high school team as well as in fast mile and 3200 distances. I've competed twice in the state XC championships, finishing in the top 100 both times. I'm looking for a college program with where I can get both a strong STEM education and a distance running culture that will push me to keep improving. PRs: 3200 9:07; 1600 4:15.4; 800 1:57.3 (1:53.1 relay split). Instrumental music has also been an important part of my life (cello and bass), so I would also like to continue to play in an orchestra in college. I've taken a rigorous course load with 11 APs by graduation, including many STEM courses. I am interested in a school with strong engineering programs and would like to major in either Civil or Chemical Engineering.
