What the Academy is
A local, in-person program run by the same team behind Trackbeast and San Diego Elite — the online playbook, coached face-to-face.
In-person, on the track
Coached sessions in San Diego — not a PDF plan you run alone. Real reps, real feedback, real accountability, week over week.
Built around your events
Sprints, distance, hurdles, jumps, throws, or multis — training is shaped to the athlete in front of us, their PRs, and their race calendar.
Recruiting baked in
Coaching and college recruiting run together, not in silos — the same Trackbeast database, marks, and target-list work that runs the rest of the platform.
Small groups + individual
A capped roster so coaching stays hands-on. Group training energy with individual attention on mechanics, pacing, and race execution.
Who runs it
Led by Eric Avila — a two-time U.S. Olympic Trials finalist and USATF national champion — through his San Diego Elite system, with the full Trackbeast recruiting platform behind every athlete. San Diego is home base; this is the local, hands-on version of what we do.

Straight talk
- —This isn’t open yet — we’re forming the first San Diego cohort now and dating it around the season.
- —Spots will be limited on purpose. Waitlist first, in order, before it opens to the public.
- —Joining the waitlist costs nothing and commits you to nothing — it just puts you first in line and helps us shape the schedule.
- —We don’t guarantee offers, scholarships, or times. We coach the work; the athlete does it.
