▸Head coach Carl Hicks has led Coppin State cross country and track & field for 25+ seasons (head coach since 1999-00) and is the longest-tenured current coach at the school. Under Hicks, Coppin has produced 31 NCAA/USTFCCCA All-Americans in 11 different events, 123 MEAC track & field champions and seven MEAC cross country individual champions.

▸Christina Epps was a six-time MEAC triple jump champion and two-time USTFCCCA All-American who represented the USA at the 2016 Rio Olympics (15th, 14.01m) after taking second at the U.S. Olympic Trials. As of her Coppin State Hall of Fame induction (Class of 2025), she still held both the Coppin State AND MEAC triple jump records, indoors (43-2.5) and outdoors (43-11.75).
