▸Grambling sprinter Stone Johnson equaled the 200m world record (20.5) at the 1960 US Olympic Trials and finished fifth in the 200m at the Rome Olympics; after moving to pro football he died from an injury in a 1963 preseason game and the Kansas City Chiefs retired his No. 33.
