▸Head coach Dr. Michael Snapp (third season, 2025-26) arrived from Alabama State, where over 15 seasons as assistant and associate head coach he helped the Hornets win 45 SWAC cross country, indoor and outdoor championships, including five Triple Crowns (XC + indoor + outdoor titles in the same year).

▸Herman Sanders, a three-time All-SWAC performer in the 400m and 800m and two-time NAIA All-American who helped lead Mississippi Valley State to back-to-back NAIA national championships in 1980 and 1981, was inducted into the SWAC Hall of Fame in 2012.
