▸Legendary Princeton coach Fred Samara, head coach from 1979 until his 2023 retirement after 46 years with the program, coached 10 Princeton Tigers to nine NCAA individual championships and guided six of his athletes to the Olympics; Samara himself competed in the decathlon at the 1976 Montreal Olympics.

▸Princeton hosted the first collegiate track and field meet in U.S. history, an intramural meet on June 21, 1873.
